USSCO can help students and parents finance college tuition with a PHEAA loan. (Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency). PHEAA loans are government backed student loans made to you by USSCO Federal Credit Union. Financing programs include:

• Subsidized Federal Stafford Loan - The federal government will pay the interest on this loan while you are in school. You must have "financial need" to qualify for the interest subsidy benefits. Need is the cost of education minus other financial aid and your Expected Family Contribution.

• Unsubsidized Federal Staffor Loan - No expected family co ntribution is used to determine need for this loan; however you will be responsible for all interest on this type of loan from the date it is disbursed to you because the federal government does not pay the interest on your behalf. This type of loan is limited to the cost of education minus other financial aid including Subsidized Stafford Loan.

• Federal Plus Loans - Parents, if you want to borrow to help pay for your child's education, you can borrow up to the difference between your student's educational costs and other financial aid each year through this program. This program is for parents of dependent undergraduate students.

When using USSCO as the processing financial institution of record for you student loan, the student must have his or her own account (reporting under their social security number) at the Credit Union. If this account is not open it will delay in the payment of funds to the institute of higher learning.
