USSCO Federal Credit Union—a growing, full-service community based financial institution, is looking for a qualified Controller at our Richland location who is enthusiastic, team-oriented, and a positive leader.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible to direct the financial affairs of the credit union and prepare financial analyses of operations for executive management. General responsibilities include developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures; month end closing processes, analyzing and interpreting statistical information to evaluate operating results, ensuring compliance to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and instituting and maintaining other planning and control procedures, and maintaining a highly motivated, well-trained staff, evaluating their performance on a regular basis.

The selected candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of accounting or finance, and at least five (5) years’ experience in a mid-level finance or accounting position, financial institution experience is desired. CPA certification, master’s degree, and/or experience in a leadership role is a plus. The selected candidate must have knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP; knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems; and knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Additionally, the candidate must have excellent problem-solving, planning, organization, and time management skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; and ability to work independently in an environment that requires multi-tasking with minimal supervision.
